The handle (tsuka) has a wooden core covered with genuine stingray skin (samegawa) and is wrapped with green tsuka-ito in the traditional style. The scabbard (saya) is made of lacquered wood with a detailed painting of a tiger in a jungle setting, an unusual design that really stands out in the collection.
