Black Static is a katana with a dark and graphic expression where contrast and structure take center stage. The sword combines traditional heat treatment with modern visual details.
Blade
The blade is forged from T10 high-carbon steel and has a hardness of around 60 HRC , which provides a good balance between sharpness and toughness.
The blade has two clearly distinct visual elements :
Along the edge runs a genuine hamon in a clover pattern , produced by clay hardening. The hamon line has soft, rounded shapes that give an organic and lively expression, with natural variation.
Along the back (mune) is a stone pattern, a decorative surface finish created by forging and grinding. This pattern is not part of the heat treatment but a visual design element that adds depth and contrast to the blade.
In addition, the spine of the blade has decorative filework , which enhances the technical and aggressive impression.
Tsuba + Tsuka
The tsuba features a detailed dragon motif in silver-colored metal. The shape is powerful and three-dimensional, giving the sword a distinct presence.
The handle (tsuka) is wrapped with black ito over genuine stingray leather, in a traditional katate maki battle wrap with diamond pattern. The final kashira is decorated with relief and symbols, contributing to a robust and ceremonial expression.
Saya
The sayan is made of lacquered wood with a black base finish and a contrasting white “static” pattern . The pattern is irregular and graphic, giving the sword its distinct identity. The sageo is black with white elements and knotted in a classic style, adapted to the color scheme of the sayan.
