Wakizashi
Wakizashi is a shorter samurai sword that was traditionally carried alongside a katana. At Ghost Blades you will find carefully selected wakizashis made of carbon steel, cotton-wrapped handles and genuine stingray leather. All our Wakizashi's are fully disassemblable for maintenance and inspection, just as traditional Japanese swords are meant to be constructed.
Our Wakizashi's are divided into three tiers: Core, Heritage and Premium, where the difference lies primarily in the blade's construction and craftsmanship complexity.
🥉 CORE - Authentic. Traditional. Properly built.
Core is the foundation of Ghost Blades. Crafted from high carbon steel with, or without, traditional clay tempering and fully demountable construction, these swords offer a classic katana experience with a focus on function and proper construction.
**Core offers no customization options.**
✔ Mono steel
✔ With or without traditional hamon
✔ Full tang
✔ Clean and correct construction
Core is for those who want a katana without technical complexity but with real quality.
🥈HERITAGE - Refined aesthetics. More detail. More presence.
Heritage builds on Core with better finishes, clearer hamon and more elaborate details in assembly.
**Heritage offers limited customization options.**
✔ Mono steel or industrial folded steel
✔ Clearer hamon
✔ Better polish
✔ Improved fit
✔ Customization options
Heritage is for those who want more visual strength and a sense of craftsmanship without going up to technically advanced blade construction.
🥇 PREMIUM - Technical complexity. Craftsmanship at the highest level.
Premium represents advanced blade designs and more time-consuming forging and hardening processes. Here you will find models with, for example, hand-forged folded steel, sanmai or complex tempering such as hitatsura hamon.
**Premium offers exclusive customization options.**
✔ Advanced blade design
✔ Extended hand polishing
✔ Stricter quality control
✔ Access to exclusive upgrades
Premium is for collectors, enthusiasts and practitioners who seek more technical complexity and a higher level of craftsmanship.
Unique Serial Number
Each custom-made Heritage and Premium katana is assigned a unique serial number. This number allows the sword to be traced within Ghost Blades production and serves as a mark of authenticity, reinforcing its collectible value.
