Deep Forest is a katana inspired by dense, ancient forests: dark, still and powerful. The deep green saya with its organic, dotted texture brings to mind moss-covered stone and shady treetops, while the dark details and copper fittings give the sword an earthy and robust character. This is a blade for those who appreciate contrasts: raw nature meets traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
Blade
The blade is made of T10 steel and is traditionally clay-hardened , creating a true differential hardening with visible hamon. The harder edge is combined with a tougher back to achieve a balance between strength and durability. The polishing is done in a classic three-tone finish that gives the blade a vivid depth and clear visual separation between the zones, a technical and aesthetic expression that enhances the character of the sword.
Tsuba + Tsuka
The tsuba and fittings are made of copper with a dark patina and warm-toned details. The motif conveys strength and a sense of nature, where the relief work creates depth and texture in the metal.
The tsuka is wrapped in black ito over genuine samegawa, which provides a stable grip, classic Japanese aesthetics and a clear contrast to the green saya.
Saya
The saya is lacquered in a deep forest green tone with an organic speckled structure that gives a vibrant and natural expression.
The koiguchi, kurigata and kojiri are made of horn , which provides both increased durability and a traditional finish. The black sageo creates a dark contrast against the green lacquer and reinforces the sword's forest theme.
