Dragon's Blood is a katana that combines dramatic aesthetics with traditional craftsmanship. The deep-shining red saya symbolizes strength, power and honor as if the blade bears traces of the fire of battle. The contrast between the blood-red lacquer and the black tsuka creates an aggressive yet elegant expression. The gold-colored fittings give the sword a regal presence.
Blade
The blade is hand-forged from T10 high carbon steel and clay-hardened to create a powerful, organic hamon pattern. The hardening line runs along the edge in a dramatic, almost flame-like expression that gives the blade a vivid depth and distinct character.
The differential hardening results in a hard edge (approx. 60 HRC) for maximum strength and wear resistance, while the spine retains slightly more flexibility for balance and durability. The result is a blade that combines aggressive aesthetics with functional strength.
The manual polishing highlights both the contrasts of the hamon and the structure of the steel, making each piece unique. Dragon's Blood is not just red in name, the blade's pattern brings to mind fire, movement and raw energy.
Tsuba + Tsuka
The tsuba is made of gold-colored copper and richly decorated with traditional Japanese motifs, including floral details and nature-inspired shapes. The design gives an open and elegant expression while also functioning as a stable hand guard. The tsuba is wrapped in black cotton over white samegawa (stingray leather), which provides both classic contrast and a secure grip. The golden menuki details subtly break off during the wrapping.
Saya
The Saya is lacquered in a deep red finish with a subtle, brush-like texture that brings the surface to life. The black sageo creates a powerful contrast against the red color and enhances the sword's dramatic expression. The high-gloss finish makes Dragon's Blood a visual centerpiece in any collection.
