HELL FIRE is an exclusive katana where traditional craftsmanship meets an aggressive, fiery aesthetic. The sword is created for collectors looking for something powerful, visually striking and technically advanced. The saya features a dragon crafted using traditional Raden shell-inlay, where pieces of genuine sea shell are embedded into the lacquer and polished to a mirror finish.
Blade
The blade is made with a traditional sanmai construction , where a core of T10 high carbon steel is combined with an outer layer of folding steel . This construction provides an optimal balance between extreme strength and flexibility, while the folded outer steel creates a vibrant and unique pattern in the blade.
After forging, the blade has undergone advanced clay hardening , resulting in a natural and clear hamon . Each blade is hardened individually and therefore has its own expression, no two blades are exactly alike. Finally, the blade has been hand-ground and hand-polished in several steps according to the Japanese method.
Tsuba + Tsuka
The tsuka is wrapped with green/mustard yellow ito over genuine stingray leather (samegawa), which gives both an exclusive look and a stable grip. The warm tones enhance the sword's fiery theme and create a strong contrast to the cool steel of the blade.
The tsuba is made of copper and has a powerful, organically shaped design with details that evoke movement and raw strength. The surface is richly textured and interacts well with the hamon of the blade, giving a cohesive and well-crafted overall impression.
Saya
The saya is crafted from wood and finished in a deep, fiery red high-gloss lacquer that gives the sword a powerful and elegant presence. The mirror-polished surface enhances the richness of the color while allowing subtle hints of the wood’s natural grain to appear in the light.
As a central decorative element, the saya is adorned with a dragon created using traditional raden technique, an exclusive Japanese craft in which thin fragments of genuine sea shell are carefully cut and inlaid into the lacquer. After the inlay process, the surface is meticulously polished in multiple stages until the decoration becomes seamlessly integrated with the lacquer, forming a smooth, glass-like finish. The result is a shimmering dragon whose iridescent tones shift depending on how light falls across the surface.
The koiguchi, kurigata, and kojiri are reinforced with black horn fittings, enhancing both durability and refinement while emphasizing the sword’s premium character. The combination of deep red lacquer, natural materials, and the hand-inlaid raden decoration transforms the saya into a work of art in its own right, as much a showcase of craftsmanship as it is a functional component of the katana.
