OCTO-8 is a katana with a powerful and distinctive expression, where ocean-inspired symbolism meets traditional Japanese design. The sword combines a graphic and unusual hamon with a richly decorated mount, and is clearly positioned as a collector's item with a strong visual identity.
Blade
The blade is forged from T10 high-carbon steel with a hardness of around 60 HRC.
Along the edge runs a genuine hamon in an X-pattern , produced by clay hardening. The hamon line is clear and graphic, with natural variations that make each blade unique in its expression.
Tsuba + Tsuka
The tsuba is richly decorated with organic motifs using copper as the base metal , complemented by silver and gold-colored details. The shape is deep and three-dimensional, acting as a visual anchor between blade and handle.
The handle (tsuka) is wrapped with light brown suede-ito over genuine stingray leather in katate maki wrapping style with traditional diamond pattern. The fittings are copper-based and decorated with relief details that harmonize with the overall theme of the sword.
Saya
Made from lacquered wood with a black base finish, the Saya is engraved with an octopus theme , with tentacles and organic shapes running along the sheath. The engraving is deep and detailed, with touches of orange tones that bring the motif to life and contrast against the dark background.
Sageo is black with beige accents and tied in a classic style, adapted to the sayan's color scheme and motif.
